Elyse Weinberg
Elyse Weinberg 2
Elyse Weinberg’s debut album Elyse hit a respectful 31 on the Billboard charts, but her second album never got past the test pressing stage, due to the collapse of Tetragrammaton Records. Easily the most cohesive work of her entire catalogue, the album has J.D. Souther on drums, Kenny Edwards on bass, and Nils Lofgren and on guitar, all working together in a supportive role, as well as Neil Young on the outstanding ‘Houses,’ the song that was belatedly covered by Dinosaur Jr, Vetiver and Courtney Barrett. This is a must-have reissue for all fans of folk rock – a lost gem from an original singer-songwriter unjustly neglected in her prime.
